Manufacturing Engineer

Our client is an entrepreneurial manufacturer serving the hot tub and outdoor furniture market with unique synthetic wood products. The company has grown each year and continues to increase both its revenues and workforce. Position Summary: Successful Manufacturing Engineers enjoy the challenges of working in a small engineering team environment to develop and implement creative new technologies for fabrication of outdoor products that enable next generation products for the company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Develop new fabrication technologies that enable the next generation of products for the company Identify, explore, and develop new manufacturing methods in support of market and product development activities. Processes will include a diverse array of technologies, including welding, cutting, finishing, and automated assembly Design, develop and build PLC-based systems involving robotics for manufacturing processes Use CAD (AutoCAD/Inventor), tooling, and fixtures to demonstrate the new technology Build prototypes of all new designs, and test these for efficacy Effectively lead projects, ensuring the right technical resources are utilized and projects are completed in an agreed upon timeframe Provide training on equipment/processes as needed to technicians and manufacturing personnel Provide engineering support to production team for existing processes Essential Functions Demonstrate ability to creatively design equipment, fixtures, and manufacturing processes Understanding of PLCs and robotics Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD/Inventor Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work at all levels of the organization Excellent analytical skills—proficient at turning data into information and knowledge Effective communication, both verbally and in writing, to affect decision making and keep the organization informed Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence strategy and decisions Establish clear priorities and is enthusiastic about delivering accurate and timely results Must possess a “Get it done” attitude Able to work autonomously once given a task and be self-directed Committed to making positive change but remaining flexible and able to adapt to company growth and evolving responsibilities Able to work within a team environment and treat people with respect Interested in company results and committed to working safely Understanding of LEAN tools and continuous improvement culture Proficient MS Office Suite skills and keyboarding skills Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily as well as the ability to handle situations by working as a team.
