The incumbent is expected to perform other duties necessary for the effective operation of the department.RequirementsRequired:High School diploma or equivalentAt least 1 year of experience in a high-volume/fine dining restaurantAbility to take initiative and exhibit flexibilityAbility to apply basic knife skillsA highly motivated and energetic personalityWorking knowledge of all food products and can skillfully apply culinary techniquesWorking knowledge, understanding, and application of various cooking techniquesExcellent customer service skillsHave interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contactsProfessional appearance and demeanorWork varied shifts, including weekends and holidaysAble to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral formsPreferred:Previous experience working in a similar resort settingCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Food Handler's CardWORK SCHEDULE/HOURS:VariesWorks in various kitchens per businessWORK CONDITIONS:Hot AreaStand for long periods of timesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must have the physical ability to access all areas of the facility; move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects; withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying items weighing at least 50 lbs. without restriction.Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.Physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure; work indoors and outdoors, as well as being exposed to hot/cold surfaces, steam, and wet floors.Most work tasks are performed indoors; however, there are events where outdoor activities are required. Indoor temperatures are moderate and controlled by internal environmental systems.Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and noisy environment.
