If not indicated, the hourly rate will be determined by the supervisor.The purpose of this position is to provide closed-captioning support and editing for online course content on behalf of the ADA Accommodations Office to ensure compliance supporting faculty in the academic programs of the College. Secondary responsibilities include but are not limited to providing support to students, faculty, and staff by answering general questions about accommodations/services and assisting with test proctoring within the ADA Accommodations Office. The position reports to the Director of the ADA Accommodations Office.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork with supervisor to assist faculty by editing auto-captions to achieve 99% accuracy by utilizing a captioning tool.Prioritize work in collaboration with the Distance Education Division.Notify supervisor and content creator when a captioned recording is ready to publish.Assist with providing test proctoring as needed in the ADA Accommodations Office for students with disabilities including returning exam materials to the correct academic department.Perform other duties as assigned in Enrollment Services.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proficient reading, vocabulary, grammar, audio perception, and communication skills in the English language to perform closed caption editing.Proficient computer skills necessary to utilize and navigate software applications.Utilize good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with faculty and individuals with disabilities.Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately with minimum direct supervision.Ability to remain stationary and continuously perform job duties for an extended period.Ability to push, pull, bend, and lift up to 10 lbs occasionally.QualificationsAssociate degree preferredTwo (2) years of full-time related work experience requiredApplication Procedures/Additional InformationApplicants must meet the minimum qualifications required and must submit a complete online application packet in order to be considered for a position.
