This role focuses on ensuring safety, supervising students in classroom and welding shop settings, and assisting with classroom technology. Administrative Duties: Qualifications: Safety Supervision:Ensure all students adhere to safety guidelines and protocols in the welding shop.Assist the instructor in teaching and reinforcing safety procedures.Provide immediate response and assistance in case of any safety incidents or emergencies.Supervise students during classroom activities and in the welding shop.Monitor student behavior and enforce school policies and procedures.Assist students with welding projects, providing guidance and support as needed, as directed by the welding instructor.Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.Assist the instructor in setting up and operating classroom technology, including computers, projectors, and welding simulation software.Assist with taking attendance Input assignments into the learning management system. Troubleshoot minor technical issues and coordinate with IT staff for more complex problems.Aid the instructor in preparing instructional materials and resources.Help set up and clean up equipment and materials before and after class.Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students who need extra help.Support the instructor in grading assignments and tracking student progress.Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and safety compliance.Assist with organizing and maintaining the welding shop, including inventory management and ordering supplies.Participate in department meetings and professional development opportunities as required.Education: High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education or training in welding or a related field preferred.Experience: Prior experience in welding or a related field preferred; experience working with high school students is a plus.Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to supervise and manage groups of students effectively. Attention to detail and a commitment to safety. Basic technical troubleshooting skills. Organizational and time management skills.Physical Requirements:Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the welding shop.Capability to lift and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.Working Conditions:The position involves working in both classroom and welding shop environments, which may include exposure to loud noises, heat, and welding fumes.Safety gear, such as gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing, must be worn as required.
