Electrical Engineer (Brooklyn, NY)Full-time | On-site (DUMBO – Brooklyn)Full-time | On-site (Brooklyn) | $140,000–$160,000 + equityThe RoleWe’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to take technical ownership of the electrical development of Caladan’s next-generation biomanufacturing platform. You’ll lead electrical design from early prototypes through production, working hands-on across schematic design, PCB layout, test development, EMC compliance, and manufacturing support.This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments and wants to build real-world electromechanical systems that ship. You’ll work closely with our mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to bring complex products to life, establish scalable engineering processes, and ensure our hardware performs reliably from the lab to full-scale production.This is a fully in-person role based out of our DUMBO office and lab.What You’ll DoBuild and ship electrical systems for Caladan’s bioreactor platform, taking designs from early prototypes all the way through manufacturingDesign, bring up, validate, and iterate on PCB design, schematics, and layoutOwn the electrical side of NPI, driving execution across sourcing, manufacturing, quality, and contract partners. Manage BOMs and supplier relationships, keeping designs aligned with performance, cost, and availabilityEstablish scalable engineering processes for testing, manufacturing, documentation, and quality, improving yield and reliability as we growDevelop and deploy test fixtures and automation, enabling fast debugging and consistent production testingLead EMC/EMI planning and compliance, ensuring products pass and stay compliant through revisionsOwn the electrical schedule, milestone planning, and cross-team coordination for hardware programs.
