Adjunct Instructor – American Sign Language (ASL) The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of South Dakota invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach American Sign Language (ASL) courses. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate ASL courses, which may be offered in an online synchronous format. Instruction emphasizes immersive ASL use and Deaf culture. Additional responsibilities include course preparation, student assessment, and adherence to departmental and university policies.Required Qualifications:Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)Ability to teach ASL using an immersive, visually based approachEffective communication and organizational skillsPreferred Qualifications:Prior teaching experience in ASL at the secondary or post-secondary levelDegree in ASL, Sign Language Education, Deaf Studies, or a related fieldExperience teaching online or hybrid coursesAppointment Details:This is a temporary, adjunct appointment.
