Lead projects to implement the company's environmental strategy, advocacy, policy development, compliance programs and underlying regulatory requirements (enterprise wide or client specific), either independently or as a member of a team.The Environmental Consultant must be able to interface with all levels of management and represented personnel and be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, consultants and regulators. This position requires a sound overall knowledge of local, state and federal environmental regulations, and the utility industry.Work assignments will include periodic coverage, including emergency response or planned off-hours work. Some travel is required: <20%.Job ResponsibilitiesManage activities and company’s position to support local, state and federal legislative and regulatory initiativesProvide environmental support on medium to large projects including general utility construction projects, combustion product landfill operations, demolition and decommissioning. Develop scope, overall technical design and project estimates, issue resolution and resource managementIdentify, implement, and maintain key performance and process metrics to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the environmental processes, procedures, and contractorsLead the design, decision making and recommendation in environmental program design discussionsAssist Operations and other groups on proper disposal of asbestos, PCB-impacted materials, hazardous waste and universal wasteSpill response as part of the Emergency Incident Response TeamConduct due diligence to determine potential impacts and proper soil management for Corporate projectsConduct and oversee inspections of Corporate Facilities to evaluate and provide feedback on waste handling proceduresMinimum QualificationsBachelors’ Degree in Physical Sciences, Environmental Science or Engineering2-4 years as an Environmental Consultant with demonstrated ability to perform the requirements of the position or some combination of an advanced degree in physical sciences, environmental sciences, engineering or related field and years of experiencePreferred QualificationsPE or PG LicenseStrong communication and analytical skills, organizational skills, leadership qualities and overall knowledge of state and federal regulations affecting the utility industryExcellent computer skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, are essentialEnd Date: 05/20/2026Pay Range Minimum: $78,702.26Pay Range Maximum: $135,761.08The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.
