We are a medium sized company with a family atmosphere.PACT MSO has a busy Gastroenterology office that is seeking a Surgical Scheduler. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. The position will be located in Hamden.The position is responsible for scheduling all patient surgeries or procedures for the practice.Essential FunctionsSchedule patient's procedures or surgeriesObtain demographic information and history that will allow appointments to be booked appropriately, and schedule appointments according to provider guidelines.Set up insurance informationAccommodates patient preference within the specified time frame and guidelines of the procedure order.Follows facility exclusion criteria and scheduling guidelines while scheduling.Responsible to consistently provide culturally sensitive service to all patients and coworkers.Responsible to maintain full and efficient schedules and to identify changes in scheduling patterns and report to management.Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial, or other sensitive materials and information in verbal, electronic or printed form.Competently explains pre-procedure instructions to patient and significant other or guardian.Skills and KnowledgeEffective and professional written and verbal skillsIntermediate computer skillsDemonstrated experience with EHR and schedulingOutstanding phone etiquetteEducation and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent1-2 years of procedure or surgical scheduling experience requiredEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
