Project Engineer

The Project Engineer plays a key role in helping the department achieve its strategic goals. This position leads cross-functional teams to successfully launch and manage large-scale programs, ensuring all deliverables meet customer expectations, hit measurable targets, and align with company objectives.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESProgram Leadership• Lead cross-functional teams through all stages of new program development, integration, and execution—delivering on time and within budget.• Assign tasks, organize sub-teams, and oversee day-to-day project activities.• Maintain accountability for program parts after handoff to Operations, providing troubleshooting and guidance as needed.Technical & Engineering Support• Specifying, developing, validating, and installing new equipment and tooling• Creating and maintaining FMEAs, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams• Designing parts, fixtures, and layouts; producing CAD/CAM drawings; supporting CMM operations• Applying appropriate GD&T and tolerance stack-ups• Selecting proper materials and managing outside processesProgram Tracking & Communication• Maintain accurate program status reports, tracking technical performance, schedules, financials, and customer commitments.• Identify risks, recommend solutions, and take corrective actions as needed.• Participate in production and program status meetings, reporting updates clearly and effectively.• Lead customer communication, including negotiation and ongoing relationship management.• Identify and present new business opportunities with existing customers to company leadership.QUALIFICATIONSEducation & Experience• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.• 5–10 years of proven program or project management experience in an advanced manufacturing environment.• Experience in metalworking and CNC machining strongly preferred. Technical Knowledge• Contract manufacturing• Special processing (heat treat, anodize, plating, etc.)• Manufacturing operations and technical theory• Machining theory, methods, and verification techniques• Financial management concepts (cost/benefit, value analysis)• Procurement and waste-reduction practices Skills & Abilities• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills• Candidates must be eligible for access to ITAR-controlled items and materials.
