Position Description
The medical assistant responsibilities include triaging patients, taking vital signs, and
assisting providers with every area of patient care. They may also be asked to staff the
front desk, schedule follow up appointments, register patients, and other administrative
duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare equipment and rooms and aid physician with treatment of patients
Perform vitals and other triaging duties, including gathering patient medical information
Draw blood samples from patients and perform Point of Care testing
Perform daily quality control and cleaning procedures according to guidelines
Answer medical questions on the patient messaging platform as needed
Cross train other team members
Other duties as assigned

Always partners with the patient and patient’s family (as appropriate) in order to keep the patient at ease in the physician’s office and making the patient’s goals the focus of the plan of care

May be asked to serve as a preceptor for onboarding Medical Assistants/students and is an exemplary role model for all staff or students for all disciplines to ensure that there is a current and future qualified workforce; modeling professionalism and creating a healthy work environment
Qualifications
A combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge
for success would require:
Two years of more of patient care as a MA
High school diploma or equivalent required
Basic Life Support
Phlebotomy certification preferred, and/or will provide training within first sixty days.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
