Youth Enrichment Coordinator FLSA Status: Part Time Reports To: Youth and Family Program Director Hourly Wage: $16.00 POSITION SUMMARY: The Youth Enrichment Coordinator works directly with the Youth and Family Program Director to plan, develop, and implement a comprehensive array of vibrant youth and family program offerings for the Monroe County Y. The Coordinator will have primary oversight of the Y Homeschool Hub which is a new program focusing on art exploration, STEM, youth movement, and leadership. The Coordinator will also focus on developing new youth enrichment programming for the broader YMCA community. Building and fostering relationships with Y families and guests is an integral part of this position. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Related to Program Development Coordinate the development, planning, and implementation of the Y Homeschool Hub (YHH), as well as new supportive programming for homeschool families. The YHH is a comprehensive program which focuses upon youth leadership, art exploration, STEM, and youth movement. The YHH supports participating families in providing additional supplemental educational opportunities for their children. Explore additional opportunities beyond YHH to engage all Y families in youth enrichment programming. Assist with the plan and execution of Youth and Family Special Events that may take place within the Association. Current examples of this are: Breakfast with Santa, Trunk or Treat, Father Daughter Dance, and Easter Egg Hunt. Interact and establish relationships with parents of participants and prospective participants. Establish and create a culture where children are safe and actively and appropriately engaged with others in a healthy and productive learning environment. Serve as an exemplary role model for other team members. Implement programs that are developmentally appropriate meeting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual readiness of the participants. Create a program environment that invites exploration, promotes positive play, and welcomes children. Provide programs that adhere to the YMCA health and safety standards and exhibit a high standard of excellence. Related to Staffing To be actively involved with the interviewing, hiring, training, onboarding, development, and supervision of staff, and the annual review process. Establish staff work schedules. Review and approve staff timecards. Coordinate regular in-service staff training programs and meetings for staff members. General Requirements Will require some evening and weekend work. May need to serve in the absence of the Youth and Family Director. Must be comfortable in learning and using new software technology. Must be able to successfully use Microsoft Windows. Must have the ability to lead and participate in a variety of youth activities where physical movement is required. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs. Complete other responsibilities as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience facilitating youth classroom instruction or programs required. Familiarity/experience with homeschooling practices and methods preferred. Belief in the YMCA and its Mission. Strong supervision and program development experience desired. Possess the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Demonstrate knowledge of practices, procedures, activities, and programs. Possess excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain personal equilibrium. Ability to demonstrate and model caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
