Healthcare Project Engineer, Electrical Projects

We are looking for a Project Engineer to support large-scale commercial electrical construction projects within a self-perform electrical contractor environment, with exposure to healthcare, institutional, and complex commercial builds onsite in the Detroit, Michigan area.This role works closely with Project Managers and field leadership to help drive project execution, maintain documentation flow, support scheduling activities, and assist with coordination between the office and field teams. The position is designed for someone who wants hands-on involvement in commercial electrical construction while developing into a long-term project leadership role. This is not a purely administrative position — the role carries direct involvement in active project operations and execution.ResponsibilitiesSupport commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through closeout alongside Project Managers and field leadershipAssist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement tracking, and project documentation managementCoordinate with field teams, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to maintain project flow and communicationReview construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and electrical documentation for accuracy and coordinationTrack project progress, material deliveries, manpower updates, and schedule milestones across active projectsParticipate in project meetings, site visits, and coordination efforts with internal and external stakeholdersMaintain organized project records, logs, and reporting throughout the construction lifecycleAssist with cost tracking, billing support, forecasting updates, and project status reportingHelp identify and resolve field coordination issues, scheduling conflicts, and documentation gapsSupport multiple commercial electrical projects simultaneously in a fast-paced construction environmentRequirements2+ years of experience in commercial construction, electrical construction, or project engineering environmentsExperience working for an electrical contractor, general contractor, or specialty subcontractor preferredUnderstanding of commercial construction processes, project documentation flow, and field coordinationAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedulesFamiliarity with Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software preferredStrong organizational and communication skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced project environmentMust be comfortable supporting active field operations and interacting with superintendents, foremen, and project teamsCommercial construction experience is required; residential-only experience will not be consideredBenefitsCompensation: Competitive salary based on experience.Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, vehicle allowance, bonus opportunities, and other company-sponsored programs.
