Lapp Tannehill is an industry leader in the distribution of state-of-the-art electrical connectivity products from 200+ manufacturers we are experiencing record growth, and in need of an additional Buyer. We are a proud member of the LAPP Group, a global, family-owned, industry-leading manufacturer of electrical connectivity products for the leading-edge industries. What You'll Do PurchasingEnters and maintains all purchase orders in our ERP system Negotiate price, delivery terms, and quality standards with suppliers Provide pricing and delivery schedules to the Sales Department Approve and resolve A/P discrepancies; expedite orders and price quotes Manage inventory turns to maximize company profitability Reduce surplus and obsolete inventory through smart stocking policies Maintain a quality program for receivables Supply ChainOptimizes our ERP system to drive improved fill-rate performance Explores automation and digitization options across supply chain Develop and implement improved processes, reporting, and procedures Vendor ManagementIdentify, develop, and approve new suppliers Conduct quarterly vendor performance reviews Collaborate with internal teams on demand and supply planning Process and maintain corrective action requests What We're Looking For Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or related field Prior experience in a purchasing or procurement environment preferred Strong knowledge of wholesale distribution and the wire & cable industry is a plus Technical SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel capabilities Understanding of MRP processes and ERP systems (bills of materials experience a plus) Strong analytical skills — comfortable working with financial ratios and business data Ability to quickly learn new purchasing systems, processes, and products People & Leadership SkillsStrong negotiation skills — able to secure favorable terms with manufacturers Excellent oral and written communication skills Team collaboration mindset with ability to foster a positive department culture Ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships at all levels Demonstrates high integrity, problem-solving creativity, and customer focus Our Culture & ValuesThe ideal candidate will embody our core values: Striving for Operational ExcellenceCommitted to continuous improvement and delivering measurable results.
