Our client is an established, well-respected company recognized for its commitment to operational excellence and responsible growth across its national footprint.Location & Work ModeGreater Los Angeles, CaliforniaRole and ResponsibilitiesStrategic Legal Leadership: Serve as chief legal advisor across P&C insurance and reinsurance, overseeing enterprise legal, regulatory, and risk strategy, including data privacy and technology risk.Legal & Team Leadership: Lead and develop the legal function supporting corporate, regulatory, coverage, and commercial insurance matters.Corporate Governance: Oversee board governance, entity management, and holding company compliance across insurance entities.Enterprise Risk & Regulatory Oversight: Advise on insurance regulatory, market conduct, bad faith, cyber, and privacy risk at an enterprise level.Insurance & Commercial Oversight: Provide strategic guidance on insurance products, coverage, and reinsurance structures with specialist counsel.Key Agreements & Distribution Oversight: Oversee legal strategy for MGA/MGU, reinsurance, TPA, and distribution agreements.Regulatory Engagement: Oversee interpretation of DOI/NAIC and privacy regulations impacting insurance operations.Litigation & Disputes Oversight: Direct strategy for coverage disputes, reinsurance litigation, and major claims matters.Cross-Functional Executive Partnership: Partner with senior leadership across underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, IT, and cybersecurity.RequirementsMUST HAVE J.D. and admission to at least one U.S. jurisdiction.MUST HAVE 15+ years experience in-house at a P&C insurance carrierMUST HAVE exposure to insurance and reinsurance
