DEPARTMENT: FINANCETITLE: GRANT MANAGEMENT ADMINISTRATORSTATUS: Full - TimeJOB CATEGORY: FinanceBrief Description of Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibilities of the Grant Management Administrator are to manage all local, state, and Federal grants received by the City of Gary, including grant revenues and expenditures.Assist in the development and implementation of grant standard operating procedures and policies, monitor interdepartmental procedures to ensure compliance with established local, state, and federal policies, investigate issues relating to grant audit findings, and assist departments with Corrective Action Plans.Reconcile departmental grant-related financial reports to the RDS accounting system, provide documentation for monthly and/or quarterly grant reporting and drawdowns, review purchase requests for eligibility, and approve requisitions.Responsible for accurate completion of the annual SEFA grant report, reviewing grant funds for proper and timely reimbursements, maintaining Sams and DUNS number registrations, reviewing bank statements to identify expected drawdowns, revenues, and receipts into proper grant fund accounts.Completes other grant-related assignments and special projects assigned by the Controller or Deputy ControllerQualificationsExperience in Accounting required, Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred3-5 years of experience in monitoring, auditing, or managing grantsFamiliarity with SAM and DUNS numbers preferredAnalytical and Reasoning SkillsStrong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (familiarity with basic functions and formulas), Microsoft Word, and Microsoft OutlookGeneral knowledge of Financial Accounting Software SystemsAbility to accurately interpret grant requirements and complianceGovernmental Accounting and Financial Reporting familiarityExcellent customer service skills/communication/organizational skillsAbility to plan, prepare, and complete assigned projects with limited supervision
