About the units: The 4th floor is comprised of 2 separate units specializing in the care of trauma, stroke, and various neurosurgical patients. Monitors quality dashboards, develops action plans, and uses evidence-based practice to improve care and meet organizational goals. Analyzes nurse and patient satisfaction data and leads improvement actions; shares best practices across units and the system. Builds strong internal and external relationships through mentoring, positive communication, trust, and timely conflict resolution. Promotes a safe, inclusive, and respectful work environment; addresses cultural diversity, workplace conflict, and staff well-being. Creates and communicates a shared vision using clinical, financial, and quality data; leads and supports staff through complex change. Establishes a culture of patient-centered, relationship-based care aligned with clinical standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles across the life span. Assesses patient data reflective of the patient’s condition and interprets information to identify age-specific needs. Provides care in accordance with department policies and procedures based on age-specific requirements. Minimum of four (4) years of progressive leadership experience required. Relevant clinical experience preferred. Demonstrates analytical ability to evaluate staff performance, address and improve clinical issues, and develop solutions to complex problems. Demonstrates leadership ability to develop staff and establish and maintain standards of performance aligned with national professional nursing practice. Ensures compliance with administrative requirements. Possesses superior interpersonal and communication skills to effectively build relationships with patients, families, staff, physicians, hospital personnel, and senior management. Communicates effectively in both written and verbal formats to support a healing environment. BS or BSN required at time of hireMaster’s degree or MSN required. If BS degree is not in nursing, a Master’s or higher degree in Nursing is required.If Master’s degree is not in nursing, a BSN is required. If a Master’s degree or MSN is not held at time of hire, enrollment in a Master’s or MSN program is required within one year of hire or transfer.Master’s or MSN program must be completed within three years of enrollment.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within one year of hire or transfer. Basic Life Support (BLS) required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration within 30 days of hire/transfer. NIH Stroke Scale (NIH) within 6 months of hire or transfer. Registered Nurse (RN)Act 34Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
