Senior Systems Engineer
Role: Senior Systems Engineer Location: Gilbert, AZ 85233 Duration: 5 Months with possible extension Schedule: First Shift (Limited Hybrid - Up to 1 Day per Week)Overview: As a Senior Systems Verification Engineer in the Space and Defense Group Spacecraft Avionics team, you will provide engineering support and direction for various development and production programs involving electronics circuit boards and their associated test equipment systems and software. You will be responsible for planning and executing requirement verification analysis and test activities.Key Responsibilities:Participate in a cross-functional product team to execute the completion of programs and initiatives for assigned productsCreate and maintain test plans and test procedures to verify embedded system requirements including software, firmware, electrical high-speed digital, power, mixed-signal, and mechanical environmentsWrite, maintain, and train on test procedures utilized by technicians and engineers for product environmental qualification, system requirement verification, and production unit acceptance testsManage verification of technical requirements within specific hardware configurations and produce technical artifacts to document that verificationLearn and adhere to standard business operating documents regarding processes required on assigned programsPerform engineering analysis using engineering fundamentals and computational software for verification of hardware and software requirementsGenerate, organize, and maintain technical data, reports, drawings, and procedures, utilizing existing configuration management processes to release and update product documentationExecute and manage program engineering tasks within an established program budget and scopeRequired Qualifications:Minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering or BS in Computer Engineering or equivalentMinimum of 6 years of engineering work experience (preferably 10 years)Proven track record in digital, power, and/or mixed-signal electronics design, printed circuit board design, and prototypingExperience with embedded computer systems, microprocessor, microcontroller, or FPGA/ASIC architecture definition and developmentTest planning for unit, subsystem, and system testing to verify electrical, mechanical, and software requirements under various environmental conditionsAuthoring test plans, procedures, and scripts for product verification, qualification, and acceptance testingSystems engineering analysis and requirement verification in space electronic systemsAerospace/Defense system modeling and requirement developmentPreferred Qualifications:Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to communicate clearly and professionallyDemonstrated ownership with great attention to detail and a sense of urgency in addressing challengesAbility to make timely technical decisions that maintain product integrityWillingness to adapt and make changes to meet business needsProblem-solving, continuous improvement, planning and organizing, leadership, and maintaining work standardsEmpathy and humility towards colleaguesSkills & Knowledge:Proficient in MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS VisioUnderstanding of computer architecture and drawing standardsAbility to troubleshoot complex hardware/software embedded subsystemsExperience leading root cause analyses to address manufacturing issues, nonconformances, or test failuresCapability to organize and lead a technical team of engineers and technicians to verify requirements
