Senior Chemical Engineer
Job Description*NOTE: This role is located in SE Montata. It's being posted in large metro cities to boost the amount of people seeing the posting. It would require relocation to SE Montana(generous relocation pacakage offered).Gpac is partnered with a well-established energy and power generation organization that is seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer to support engineering, maintenance, and capital projects at a large-scale operating facility. This role offers exposure to plant operations, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on engineering work supporting critical infrastructure.The ideal candidate brings a strong background in chemistry and water treatment within a power plant or municipal/government utility environment and is comfortable operating in a hands-on, technically focused leadership role.Position OverviewThe Senior Chemical Engineer provides technical assistance to engineering teams in the development of specifications, estimates, outage reports, and engineering plans of moderate complexity. The role supports both maintenance and capital projects and contributes to safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operations.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport engineering teams with specifications, cost estimates, store orders, and project scope developmentLead and manage chemistry and water treatment programs to ensure regulatory compliance and system reliabilityProvide technical guidance related to plant chemistry, water systems, and treatment processesSupport safe, efficient operations aligned with industry and environmental standardsDevelop engineering plans and layouts consistent with business and operational goalsResearch and review drawings, codes, specifications, equipment data, and manufacturer informationAssist with engineering investigations, evaluations, and equipment performance analysisAct as a liaison with drafting personnel on field revisions and minor engineering changesAnalyze and manipulate data to prepare calculations, reports, and graphical presentationsSupport project management activities for maintenance and capital projectsParticipate in cross-functional meetings to coordinate engineering plans and executionEvaluate vendor proposals and recommend equipment and service purchasesReview vendor and manufacturer drawings for accuracy and specification complianceConduct site visits to gather field data and collaborate with engineering and maintenance teamsQualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or Professional Engineer (PE) license in an applicable disciplineMinimum of 5 years of related engineering experienceWorking knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and industry standardsWhy Consider This Opportunity?Stable organization with critical infrastructure assetsExposure to both maintenance and capital engineering projectsHands-on role with field and office responsibilitiesOpportunity to grow technical and business competenciesCollaborative engineering and operations environmentIf you're qualified and interested, please send your confidential resume to Brittany at brittany.hamilton@gogpac.com for immediate consideration!Keywords: chemical engineer, senior chemical engineer, power generation plant, energy, water treatment, chemistry, Montana
