If you enjoy flexible work, you can experience and learn multiple skills.The Materials Handler is responsible for the safe and prompt movement of product throughout the facility including received goods/materials and finished product shipping out to customers. The Materials Handler is also responsible for maintaining accurate inventory notes and organization of the warehouse. While some work is performed within the warehouse environment, the majority is performed outdoors. Materials Handler Responsibilities:Comply with all safety procedures and in/outdoor tidy maintenance guidelines; ensure the safety, security, and sanitation of workspaces; conduct periodic inspections of the warehouseAccurately and promptly follow written/oral instructions regarding daily job dutiesEnsure daily equipment inspections are complete prior to shift start reporting deficiencies immediatelyFulfill orders by pulling product and packaging, and prepare necessary paperwork accurately and efficiently; Strap/re-skid products as required; must have the ability to use and operate hand tools (including pneumatic tools); includes bundling pipes which requires frequent heavy lifting and maneuvering throughout the work shiftMaintain accurate documents and records for all handled and shipped goodsSort cargo while loading or unloading marking containers with identifying information; inspect product for quality control and stock level issuesKeep and maintain an inventory by labeling, identifying, and placing materials in stock; periodically pull and review inventory and supplies to ensure stock numbers are correctEnsure all product anticipated to ship for the day will be complete including shipping prep: pull, pack, rate, load, and securing the productBe available to load/unload a variety of materials from trucks, vans, and flatbeds using necessary equipmentMaterials Handler Requirements:Valid Driver's license and access to reliable transportation are requiredAbility to run various types of propane or electric powered forklifts and/or hand trucks required; current forklift operation certification preferredStrong skills in operating forklift and machinery within close confined spaces is required.Final products shipping to customer must arrive undamaged. Ability to safely load large/heavy palletized equipment onto flatbed trucks using a forklift is requiredAs this is a strenuous job requiring heavy lifting. Must have the ability to lift and move 50 or more pounds repeatedly throughout work shiftAbility to work scheduled hours as required by the company, occasional overtime hours may be required/scheduledAt least one year's experience in inventory management preferredStrong attention to detailStrong English oral and written communications skills, strong mathematics skills; ability to read and understand shipping manifests and related documentsAll qualified candidates must apply though this posting to be considered for this position.
