Here to lead.ResponsibilitiesJob OverviewThis position is responsible for leading the safety and compliance efforts of the Divisional Safety Teams and partnering with their operational counterparts to promote the safety culture within their Division, achieve accident/injury reduction, ensure DOT compliance, maintain CSA BASIC scores below intervention thresholds and support Driver Orientation. This position will also drive operational accountability to ensure driver and company compliance with all company and governing regulations.What Will You Enjoy Doing (duties/tasks)Lead divisional safety team members and direct efforts necessary to achieve safety goals and objectives. Review and analyze data to identify necessary safety and compliance trends and develop action plans for divisional safety teams and operational teams to address issues. Develop and lead non-routine safety and awareness trainingConduct primary root cause analysis/assign preventability for collisionsContinually build the safety culture within your divisionCoach on risk associated behaviorDevelop reports and analyze data to measure safety performanceQualificationsWhat you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)Bachelor’s degree, or 2 years of management experience in transportation safety, or 3+ years of management experience. 2+ years of experience working with spreadsheet, word processing, and other applications skillsGood verbal and written communication, reading, organizational, presentation, interpersonal and team building skills, and reasoning, problem solving and analytical abilityPreferred SkillsAdvanced ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formClass A CDLPrevious OTR experience preferredSmith System Defensive Driving Certification preferredKnowledge and general understanding of all aspects of transportation logistics business.Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience.Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results.Able to promote a culture of trust and safety.
