Technical Project Manager
Softthink Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and result-oriented Technical Project Manager to join our team in Herndon, VA to support our client project.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work in the capacity of Scrum Master & Project Manager.
• Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions.
• Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop optimization strategies.
• Document and communicate the results of efforts.
• Manage competing resources and priorities.
• Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects.
• Effectively communicate your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
• Understand and assess the changing needs of the business.
• Identify specific business opportunities.
• Influence stakeholders to support business projects.
• Assist with project management for selected projects.
• Coordinate with different departmental teams to produce better business outcomes.
• Test business processes and recommend improvements.
• Determine and define project scope and objectives.
• Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
• Delegate tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them.
• Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project.
• Serve as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy.
• Communicate with executives or senior management to keep the project aligned with their goals.
• Perform quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected.
• Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
• Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
• Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
• Adjust schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change.
• Familiar with collaboration and task tracking tools like Rally / Jira to effectively manage projects and timelines.
• Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
• Estimate the scope of the product and manage the change in scope.
• Estimate and track time and cost requirements.
• Manage and mitigate risks.
• Perform user acceptance testing.
• Plan and sequence of schedules and activities.
• Negotiate work with the team.
• Remove impediments and assist the team.
• Serve as a focal point for information on the project.
• Manage stakeholder communication.
• Track, report, and keep documentation.
• Work as a Scrum Master cum Project Manager within the team to meet Project Objective and timelines.
At our company and at our client’s company, a Technical Project Manager requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a combination of education and experience equating to the U.S. equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the aforementioned subjects.
