Meteorologist

KVAL/KMTR is looking for a Meteorologist to anchor the weather on-air and online. You will maintain a digital and social media presence while also providing weather forecasts throughout our newscasts. We also look to our meteorologists for weather reporting, which includes work in the field producing packages, vosots and more.The main day to day responsibilities of the role will include…Forecasting, Producing and Presenting clear and concise weather casts, which tell a story and connect with viewersIssue warnings and alerts, produce graphics and maps, and report live during weather eventsUtilize social media as well as write weather storiesMake public appearances on behalf of the stationWork with producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situationsWork with digital team to create engaging content for the website, YouTube and social mediaProduce semi-regular weather packagesWhat skills do you need to be successful in our role?In Depth Knowledge of forecastingAbility to demonstrate experience with active and visual live shotsAbility to multitask while meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasksBachelor's degree in Meteorology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.Experience as weather anchor/meteorologist at professional news stationUnderstanding of journalistic ethicsWhile applying online, please include a link to your online demo reel.Employment practices will not be influenced or affected by virtue of an applicant's or employee's race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, military or veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.About Sinclair:Sinclair, Inc.
