The primary role of this position is to align the culinary team to achieve the collective goal of excellence in all aspects of F&B. In addition to the creation of a restaurant&#39;s menu and identity, the Area Executive Chef will develop and mentor a unified team of hospitalitarians. From recipe development to execution, they take the lead and ensure that food is prepared properly, safely, and with a high degree of detail and excellence. You will be "the chief" and maintain complete control of the back of house, kitchen operations, and work closely with the F&B GM to ensure an impeccable guest experience.Requested TasksDevelop and implement a cohesive culinary vision that aligns with the property's brand, ensuring all menu items reflect quality and creativity for both restaurant and banquet servicesMentor, inspire, and lead the culinary team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaborationDesign seasonal menus for both restaurant and banquet functions, incorporating local ingredients and culinary trends to enhance guest experiencesCreate and refine recipes to ensure consistency and quality across all culinary offerings, encouraging creativity and innovation within the teamOversee the planning and execution of all banquet services, ensuring timely delivery, high quality, and exceptional presentation of food for eventsOversee food costs, labor expenses, and inventory management, implementing strategies to maximize profitability without compromising qualityConduct regular kitchen audits, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards while maintaining high culinary qualityWork closely with the management team to promote culinary offerings and participate in marketing initiatives and special eventsManage staff schedules, conduct performance reviews, and maintain documentation related to kitchen operations and food safety complianceAs needed, meet with guests while being professional, personable and courteousWork directly with food vendors as neededStay current on developing trends in the industryAdhere to cleanliness and safety guidelinesAdhere to Makeready&#39;s Guiding PrinciplesAdditional duties and assignments as assignedRequested CapabilitiesExtensive experience as an Executive Chef in a hotel settingStrong knowledge of various cuisines and cooking techniquesProven track record of successful team leadership and managementExceptional creativity and passion for culinary artsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong business acumen with experience in budgeting and cost controlA keen eye for detail related to food preparation and presentationExcellent food handling skillsAn innovative and thoughtful culinary natureAbility to research emerging food trends and develop them according to conceptRequired to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle/feel/work with objects & toolsMust be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds related to inventoryMust be able to adeptly smell and taste food and beverages to judge qualityAdhere to Makeready & property policies and procedures as definedAs part of the Makeready collection, we proudly offer a variety of thoughtful benefits and perks for eligible team members including accommodating PTO/PTO exchange, medical/dental/vision benefits, maternity/paternity leave, pet insurance, company-matched dependent care & 401k, student loan repayment program and a wide range of additional ancillary benefits.
