MacKay Sposito is seeking a Construction Inspector with experience in utility, roadway, and bridge construction to join our team for a multi-year project in the Bonney Lake, WA area. As the Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for physical on-site observation, documentation, and inspection of the construction project to assess and ensure compliance with applicable contract plans and specifications, and applicable codes and regulations.Experience with asphalt paving, structural concrete, retaining walls, utilities, roundabout or intersection construction, and bridge construction is preferred. Experience working with WSDOT M 41-10 Standard Specifications is desired.Keys to Success:Monitor construction daily for conformance with construction contract documentsObserve and report on a variety of work including installation of highway road improvements, underground utilities, traffic and erosion control, roundabout construction, and bridge construction. The project includes both new roadway construction and rebuilding of existing roadwaysReview schedules, drawings, submittals and pay estimatesPrepare daily reports completely and accurately, documenting all work observedAttend various construction meetings, as requiredManage and answer contractor inquiries and issuesCommunicate and follow up with oral and/or written reports, including pertinent pictures, regarding the progress of the project to the construction managerResponsible for job specific quality assurance tasksTracking labor and equipment for possible T&M contract workQualifications:High School Diploma or GEDAssociates Degree in Engineering Technology or NICET Certification (Construction) or WSDOT inspection certifications preferredAt least 5 years of progressive inspection experience with city, county, state or federal roadway construction, with any of the following experience types:Asphalt pavingADA curb rampsStructural concrete and steel constructionRetaining wallsGeotechnical ConstructionBridge ConstructionUnderground utilitiesHighway earthworkMust have excellent communication skills, both oral and writtenAbility to read, understand, and verify implementation of construction drawings and specificationsKnowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite and AdobeCurrent driver’s license and ability to be insured to drive company vehiclesMust be able to walk, lift, carry, stoop, bend, twist, and work outdoors on uneven surfaces routinely. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.The wage range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hour, depending on experience.Benefits:A company vehicle will be provided for business use for the project duration.
