Mid Knowledge Management Analyst
Overview
Nakupuna Companies is seeking a Mid Knowledge Management Analyst to join our team of talented consultants providing professional services to NAVSEA 04 (Industrial Operations). This individual will work with a team in support of operations under NAVSEA 04. The Mid Knowledge Management Analyst will help develop and maintain the organization's knowledge environment to foster effective collaboration and information sharing across tools, systems, and mission partners. This role requires a strong attention to detail, an understanding of knowledge management processes, and the ability to support data organization and collaboration platforms in a dynamic, mission-focused environment.
Responsibilities
Provide knowledge management (KM) support, including the monitoring, maintenance, and access management of SEA 04 information on NMCI Non-classified Internet Protocol Network (NIPRNET) share drives
Provide KM support, including the monitoring, maintenance, and access management of SEA 04 information on Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) share drives
Provide KM support on SEA 04 DON Tasking, Records, and Consolidated Knowledge Enterprise Repository (Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2)) Alfresco Enterprise sites, SEA 04's IDE (currently SEA 04's SharePoint site collections), Corporate Data Management System (CDMS) LiveLink sites (including CDMS NOFORN)
Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining knowledge management strategies to improve knowledge sharing and collaboration across NAVSEA mission areas
Design, create, and govern enterprise taxonomies and metadata structures in SharePoint to improve discoverability, reuse, and lifecycle management of organizational knowledge assets
Design and maintain enterprise and site-level taxonomies aligned with organizational missions, programs, and workflows
Ensure taxonomies support Findability, Records Management, Reporting and Analytics, and Cross-Site Consistency
Establish a taxonomy governance model, including Naming Conventions, Term Approval Workflows, Version Control, Deprecation, and Archival Rules
Document and publish taxonomy standards and usage guidelines
Administer SharePoint and related KM environments, including permissions, site structure, libraries, and document control
Maintain and update KM systems such as SharePoint, portals, and After Action Review/Lessons Learned (AAR/LL) databases
Support records and knowledge management in accordance with DoW and Navy, and NAVSEA policies, ensuring information is accurate, accessible, and secure
Assist in developing and maintaining virtual communities of interest to promote collaboration, share lessons learned, and capture best practices across organizations
Track and report KM usage metrics to measure effectiveness of collaboration tools and support continuous improvement
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth flow of information and data exchange between systems
Support the deployment, configuration, and customization of SharePoint sites, ensuring proper functionality, user access, and compliance with security standards
Provide user assistance and basic training on KM tools, document repositories, and collaboration systems
Identify and suggest improvements to enhance usability and efficiency of KM environments
Interface with appropriate NAVSEA and SEA 04's points of contact to facilitate KM functions
Provide System Administrator support for the SEA 04's integrated development environment (IDE), i.e., SEA 04's SharePoint site (requires MS SharePoint Certification)
Provide Information assurance support to ensure compliance with DOW, DON, and NAVSEA rules, regulations and instructions for SEA 04, Front Office and Program Office Local/Wide Area Networks, Cloud computing, and Platform IT (PIT) systems
Provide end-user support for software problems
Support the SEA 04 electronic spillage process by ensuring prompt reporting and monitoring of NMCI cleanup efforts in concert with the SEA 04 Assistant Security Manager
Assist in preparation of draft point papers, correspondence, presentation material, guidance/policy documents, and procedures related to KM
Prepare and provide training to personnel on pertinent KM topics
Support the implementation of Activity Chief Information Officer (ACIO) directives across SEA 04 and continuously improve information flow processes
Liaise with NAVSEA Command Information Office staff and NMCI contractors to improve processes, ensure precise and accurate information for data calls, and facilitate trouble call resolution
Support all KM System data calls for SEA 04. Develop reporting systems and standardize data call reporting and information gathering workflows in support of SEA 04 KM Systems data calls
Develop metrics for SEA 04 KM systems performance and status
Provide Risk Management Framework (RMF) validation services for SEA 04 KM sites
Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications: The ideal candidate is able to multi-task, is highly organized, has great attention to detail, and has some data analysis skills. Specifically, the ideal candidate will be familiar with and have experience with the following technical knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Knowledge Management, Communications, or related field
1 - 5 years of experience supporting information management, collaboration platforms, or KM environments within the DoW, or a similar organization is preferred
SharePoint certification
Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint administration, content management, and permissions control
Knowledge of Taxonomy Design Methodologies, Controlled Vocabularies and Metadata Standards, Records and Information Management Principles is preferred
Strong facilitation and change-management skills
Ability to translate complex organizational needs into practical taxonomy solutions
Ability to organize information logically and maintain consistency in records and document libraries
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative platforms (Teams, OneDrive, etc.)
Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
Location: DC Metro Area. Position requires 5 days a week at the Washington Navy Yard.
Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a government-issued CAC and the ability to possess a Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:
Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.

Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000.00 to $115,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
