Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Application Engineer to join our innovative team. This office-based role involves providing technical expertise, project documentation, and support to field technicians and project teams, ensuring the successful deployment and operation of building automation systems. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of HVAC control systems, software configuration, and advanced technologies like Tridium/Niagara N4, LoRa/LoRaWAN, and RF Mesh Networks. Key Responsibilities Provide remote support to field technicians by troubleshooting system issues, analyzing problems, and offering effective solutions. Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including compatibility matrices, design documents, programming notes, and system configuration guides. Develop software code and system configurations for building automation systems, ensuring proper functionality and integration. Create and publish Application Notes to assist field technicians and clients in deploying and servicing energy management systems. Act as a liaison between field teams and external technology vendors to address technical issues, bug resolution, and new feature requests. Lead project preparation efforts, including reviewing scope, ensuring system compatibility, and pre-configuring devices and software. Collaborate with project managers and sales teams to scope, develop, and manage project requirements. Provide training and mentorship to field technicians to enhance their skills and ensure alignment with company standards. Maintain records of programming, service activities, and system documentation according to company standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field required. 2+ years of experience in HVAC control systems, low-voltage systems, or building automation. Familiarity with Tridium/Niagara N4, LoRa/LoRaWAN, and RF Mesh Networks. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating documentation and supporting teams. Proficient in BAS protocols such as BACnet, MODbus, and LonWorks. Experience with commercial HVAC equipment, including AHUs, VAVs, VRFs, PTACs, FCUs, boilers, and chillers. Knowledge of networking concepts, including LAN/WAN and cloud networks. Preferred Qualifications Niagara N4 Certification. Familiarity with INNCOM, Telkonet, Verdant, and Lutron systems. Experience in training or mentoring field technicians.
