Team members are encouraged to expand their expertise, drive innovation, and participate in the development of next-generation technologies.About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled PCB Layout Design Engineer to support the design, development, and validation of advanced rigid, flex, and rigid-flex printed circuit boards (PCBs). This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop high-quality PCB layouts that meet electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and mission-critical performance requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong PCB design experience, expertise with industry-standard PCB layout tools, and the ability to collaborate effectively with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesPCB Design & DevelopmentDesign and develop complex rigid, flexible, and rigid-flex printed circuit board layouts.Utilize PCB design software such as Mentor PADS, Xpedition, Cadence, Valor, or similar tools to create and modify PCB designs.Translate schematic designs, mechanical requirements, and manufacturing specifications into production-ready PCB layouts.Ensure PCB designs meet electrical, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing requirements.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing teams, and test engineers throughout the design process.Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations for layout improvements.Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to address manufacturing challenges and optimize design performance.Support prototype development, testing, and product validation activities.Design Verification & ValidationVerify PCB layouts against schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), mechanical drawings, and assembly documentation.Perform design rule checks (DRC) and manufacturing validation reviews.Utilize Valor NPI and other validation tools to identify and resolve fabrication and assembly issues.Ensure design integrity and compliance with internal engineering standards and customer requirements.Documentation & Configuration ManagementMaintain accurate design documentation, revision histories, and engineering records.Update PCB design files to reflect schematic changes, BOM revisions, and engineering modifications.Ensure proper Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) file structure and documentation control.Support engineering change orders (ECOs) and configuration management processes.Continuous ImprovementRecommend improvements to PCB design methodologies, processes, and workflows.Stay current with emerging PCB technologies, manufacturing techniques, and industry best practices.Support process optimization initiatives to improve product quality and development efficiency.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.Minimum of 4 years of PCB layout design experience.Required SkillsStrong knowledge of PCB design elements including:SchematicsBill of Materials (BOM)Mechanical drawingsFabrication documentationAssembly documentationPCB manufacturing processesHands-on experience with PCB design software such as:Mentor PADSXpeditionCadenceValorSimilar PCB layout toolsExperience validating PCB design packages and engineering documentation.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.U.S. Citizenship required.Preferred SkillsAssociate's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related discipline.Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems such as:AgileTeamcenterSimilar PLM platformsExperience supporting defense, aerospace, or high-reliability electronic systems.Knowledge of rigid-flex and flexible PCB design methodologies.Familiarity with manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly processes for advanced PCB technologies.Pay range and compensation packageCompetitive annual salary ranging from $69,500 to $128,500 based on experience and qualifications.Opportunity to work on advanced defense and aerospace technologies.Exposure to cutting-edge engineering projects and mission-critical systems.Career growth and professional development opportunities.Collaborative and innovative engineering environment.Comprehensive benefits package.Equal Opportunity StatementThe company is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
