Hospital Controller – Amarillo, TX An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced healthcare finance leader to join a growing hospital in the Amarillo market as Controller. This is a highly visible leadership role within a newer hospital environment where the Controller will play a key role in both financial operations and overall hospital leadership.This hospital opened in late 2025 and continues to grow steadily, currently operating with approximately 50 beds and an average daily census in the mid-20s. The leadership team is collaborative, supportive, and team-oriented, offering a strong balance between operational excellence and quality of life.Compensation & Highlights:Salary range: $115,000–$125,000Bonus plan targeting 25% of base salaryRelocation assistance available for the right candidateIn-office leadership role (Monday–Friday)Strong regional operational and financial supportOpportunity to help shape and grow a newer hospital operationPosition Overview:The Controller will oversee the hospital's accounting and financial operations while serving as an active member of the leadership team. This role requires both strong technical finance expertise and the ability to collaborate operationally across departments.This is not a behind-the-scenes accounting role. The Controller will be visible throughout the hospital, involved in operations, leadership initiatives, and even patient rounding alongside the executive team.Responsibilities:Direct and oversee hospital financial operations including:General accountingFinancial reportingBudgeting and forecastingLabor managementRevenue and expense analysisInternal controlsCapital planningContract review and negotiationsUtilization review supportDevelop and maintain strong internal financial controls and compliance processesPrepare operational and financial reports for hospital and regional leadershipPartner closely with department leaders to improve operational efficiency and financial performanceParticipate in hospital leadership activities and Administrator On-Call rotation as neededSupervise two direct reports:AP/Payroll SpecialistCentral SupplyQualifications:Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferredCPA is a plus, but not requiredMinimum of five years of hospital accounting or healthcare finance experience preferredPrior leadership or management experience required, preferably overseeing small teamsStrong understanding of healthcare financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and financial analysisExperience building and maintaining strong internal control environmentsCandidates local to the Amarillo area are strongly preferred, though relocation assistance may be considered for the right individualThis is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on healthcare finance leader who enjoys being part of hospital operations, building strong relationships across departments, and contributing directly to the success and growth of a newer facility.
