Banquet Chef

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Banquet Chef to lead culinary operations for our convention center, which is attached to our full-service hotel. This is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for delivering exceptional banquet and concession food service with a strong emphasis on presentation, consistency, and guest satisfaction. This role operates out of a separate production kitchen, working in coordination with—but largely independent from—the hotel's main culinary team at Ralph's American Grill. Key ResponsibilitiesLead, train, schedule, and supervise a culinary team of approximately 6 staff membersOversee all banquet and concession food production for events ranging from small meetings to large-scale conventions Ensure high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentationManage food production within established budgetary and financial goalsCollaborate with sales and event teams to execute menus aligned with client expectations Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety regulations Oversee inventory, ordering, and cost control for banquet operations Develop and maintain efficient production systems for high-volume banquet service Provide strong, positive leadership and foster a team-oriented, accountable work culture Work collaboratively with the hotel culinary team while maintaining operational independence for banquet production QualificationsProven experience as a Banquet Chef, Sous Chef, or similar leadership role in high-volume hotel, convention center, or banquet operations Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a small team Experience managing food cost controls and operating within a budget High attention to detail, especially in food presentation and execution Ability to work independently in a separate production environment while coordinating with broader culinary operations Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment Equal Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
