Academic OB Hospitalist/Laborist Faculty - Riley Maternity Tower (IU Health)

IU Health and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Indiana University School of Medicine are seeking an OB Laborist to join our patient‑centered obstetric care model. The work takes place at Riley Children’s Maternity Tower, a state‑of‑the‑art facility that provides private labor and delivery space and a full range of maternity options within an academic setting. Riley Maternity Tower offers a Level IV OB‑ED/ICU, Level IV NICU, Maternal‑Fetal Medicine, neonatal services, certified nurse midwives, advanced practice providers, and other specialty women’s care. The tower is a campus‑wide, high‑risk maternity unit that serves a diverse population in the Indianapolis metro area and throughout the state. Compensation is commensurate with rank and experience. The position is dually employed by IU Health Physicians and the IU School of Medicine and includes a comprehensive benefit package. Highlights 12‑ or 24‑hour shifts providing patient care as part of a cohesive and collaborative team – laborist, generalist, midwives, and APPs. High‑risk OB patients are also supported by MFM and critical care teams. Deliveries (vaginal and cesarean), evaluation and management of ante‑partum, intra‑partum and postpartum patients, obstetric triage assistance, and emergency response on the labor and delivery unit. Protocol development for optimal patient care and quality is also required. Academic responsibilities include teaching and supervising residents and medical students, and some scholarly activity/faculty engagement. The role is for an IUSM Assistant or Associate Professor. Qualifications ABMS Obstetrics & Gynecology residency completion; experienced physicians and new grads are welcome to apply. Board certified or eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology. MD/DO eligible for and able to maintain an Indiana State medical license.
