We are currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to partner with the practicing Physicians in our Urgent Care offices in Western Connecticut. Under established guidelines and in collaboration with the practice physician(s) the practicing APP will need to provide:Acute care illness and injury management skillsPerform and interpret EKG Venipuncture and Peripheral line placement Administration of IM, IV medicationDressing Change and wound care managementIncision and drainage of simple abscessSuturing and stapling of simple wounds or laceration Removal of suturesApply splints and cast Perform Gynecological / pelvic examsInterpret preliminary X-Ray findingsDOT Exams Perform contact physicals School and sports exam for kidsQuality & Safety Coordination Serves as a clinical point-person for the quality and safety program for Urgent Care Clinics (UCC) in Southwestern Connecticut. Partnering closely with Physician Medical Director, Operational Director, Regional Manager as well as clinical peers in the specialty area – the Quality & Safety Coordinator will be responsible forDeveloping and monitoring reports on certain quality metrics across the 11 sites Managing any individual patient needs/near misses/risks/etc. that arise – in conjunction with physician lead, ordering clinician, and any support staff. Areas of focus will include, but are not limited to: X-Ray Imaging – ensuring x-rays are interpreted and communicated to patients by the end of every day Managing ER referrals WQVitals – ensuring all vitals are correctly taken for every patient and working with managers to correct where there are issues ECG - ensuring ECG’s are interpreted and communicated to patients by the end of every day Emergency Department Referrals – ensuring prior day’s patients with emergency referrals were taken care of by following up with patients if need be. Other areas as needed.Scheduling and Practice LocationsFull-time – 38 hours with benefitsRotating schedule during the clinic hours of Mondays – Fridays, 8:00AM – 8:00PM, Saturdays – Sundays 9:00AM – 5:00PM Weekend schedulingPractice locations will include:1.Norwalk, CT 2.Fairfield, CT 3.Monroe, CT 4.Shelton, CT 5.Stratford, CT 6.Trumbull, CT Westport, CT Stamford, CT Wilton, CTHartford HealthCare Advanced Practitioners Enjoy: No call!Competitive Compensation Matching 401k, tiered medical, dental, and vision plansGenerous Paid-Time Off Reimbursement for CME, professional society membership, licensure, and malpractice State of the art clinical and informatics technology. LEAN process improvement to drive quality outcomes and positively enhance both the patient and the provider experience. Proven and effective onboarding with supportive ongoing mentorship QualificationsUrgent Care Advanced Practitioner Requirements:Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master’s programLicensed as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut Certification as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) requiredOne year of experience practicing within urgent care, emergency medicine, or similar setting is requiredUrgent care or occupational health experience is highly preferredTraining and experience treating patients of all ages; birth through geriatricsWe take great care of careers. With locations around the state, Hartford HealthCare offers exciting opportunities for career development and growth.Here, you are part of an organization on the cutting edge – helping to bring new technologies, breakthrough treatments and community education to countless men, women and children.We know that a thriving organization starts with thriving employees-- we provide a competitive benefits program designed to ensure work/life balance.Every moment matters.And this is your moment.
