Urgent Care Float – FNP / PA – Piedmont NC

Carolina QuickCare is seeking a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to serve as a regional float advanced practice provider (APP) covering urgent care clinics across the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina. Coverage includes current and future clinic locations across the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina. This is a full-time, traveling advanced practice provider (APP) position. Float providers do not have a permanent home clinic. Assignments are managed by clinical leadership based on operational need within the defined regional footprint. This role is built for experienced, adaptable providers who are comfortable walking into different clinic environments and delivering consistent, high-quality care from day one. Clinical Responsibilities Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and episodic conditions. Perform common urgent care procedures including laceration repair, abscess drainage, splinting, wound care, and DOT physicals. Order, review, and interpret diagnostic testing including in-house labs and imaging. Prescribe medications appropriately and provide patient education on treatment plans, follow-up care, and preventive health. Document encounters thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record. Collaborate with clinic staff to maintain efficient patient flow, quality outcomes, and a strong patient experience. Practice Environment Average patient volume of 3–4 patients per hour, supporting thorough evaluation, quality care, and complete documentation. Clinical leadership and network resources accessible when needed. Fully equipped clinics with on-site diagnostics and Experity EMR. Established workflows and clinical protocols across all locations to ensure a consistent practice experience regardless of assignment. Float Structure & Travel Regional coverage area: Piedmont/Triad, North Carolina No permanent home clinic – assignments based on operational need Schedules managed by clinical leadership and published approximately 1 month in advance Mileage reimbursed per company policy Providers function as the sole clinical provider on-site at each assignment Schedule Full-time, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week Rotating weekends No on-call requirements Additional shifts available via scheduling app with time-and-a-half pay after 40 hours per week Compensation Hourly rate of $70–$75/hour based on experience, credentials, and regional assignment. Productivity incentives available above base compensation. Signing and relocation bonuses may be offered based on operational need. Compensation may vary by region and operational need. Float providers may also have the opportunity to transition into a permanent clinic-based role as positions become available.
