Mechanical Engineer
Houston, TX: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our team. This position is open to both experienced engineers and recent graduates looking to begin their careers in rotating equipment engineering. The Rotating Equipment Engineer will provide technical support for the inspection, repair, testing, and troubleshooting of pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, gearboxes, and other rotating machinery while working closely with internal teams and customers to ensure reliable and efficient equipment performance.Essential DutiesProvide technical support and engineering expertise for the repair of rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, and gearboxesConduct testing and analysis of equipment to verify performance and identify potential issuesDevelop work scopes for equipment repairs based on technical specifications and customer requirementsAssist with the development of welding procedures associated with rotating equipment repairsProvide technical support throughout the equipment repair processPerform or assist with performance analysis, troubleshooting, and failure investigationsSupport root cause analysis (RCA) efforts and provide technical input regarding mechanical and operational issuesPrepare detailed technical reports, including equipment performance assessments, failure analyses, and recommendations for corrective actionReview technical documentation related to rotating equipment, including drawings, specifications, and service reportsAssist with project budgeting, cost control, and scheduling for rotating equipment activitiesStay current with industry practices, technologies, and advancements related to rotating equipmentEnsure engineering activities comply with applicable safety requirements, quality standards, and industry codesRequirements/Skills:• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply; prior rotating equipment experience is preferred but not required.• Knowledge of or interest in pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, gearboxes, and other rotating machinery.• Familiarity with vibration analysis, alignment, balancing, troubleshooting, or rotating equipment maintenance is preferred.• Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as API, ASME, ANSI, and ISO is preferred.• Experience with or working knowledge of CAD software is preferred.• Rotating equipment or maintenance-related certifications, such as API or SKF, are a plus but not required.• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.• Ability and willingness to learn equipment repair processes, engineering standards, and industry best practices.• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with employees, customers, and other stakeholders.• Ability to work effectively in an industrial and equipment repair environment.• Must be able to commute to Houston, TX 77012.Physical Requirements:• Ability to work in office, shop, and industrial environments as required.• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and navigate equipment repair and industrial work areas.• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with applicable workplace safety requirements.Equal Opportunity Statement:Flexicrew Technical Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with FTS is governed on the basis of merit, competence, and qualifications.
