**This position is remote but may REQUIRE occasional trips to Richmond, VA. Candidates living in Virginia or surrounding areas desired.**
We are currently seeking a dedicated GCP Security Engineer.
You must possess a strong technical background in cloud security specific to platform and application security, with a focus on ensuring the integrity and security of our client's cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for leading compliance efforts by addressing vulnerabilities through remediation or implementation of controls and developing/updating related security documentation. You will demonstrate thought leadership, negotiate skillfully with and influence clients and security and technical teams to manage and fulfill the latest security control objectives and requirements, even when there are differing viewpoints. You will also successfully use your soft skills to gain consensus on approach, actions, and timing with the client and appropriate security and technical teams to drive progress against relevant objectives.
Requirements:
In depth security expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
10+ years of experience in technical roles involving security and compliance.
4+ years of experience designing and implementing technical solutions to enhance visibility and alerting capabilities and reduce risk within Cloud environments through control implementation.
Experience and ability to independently assess risks and identify vulnerabilities in infrastructure with an eagerness to suggest new processes, policies, and overall improvements to internal security controls.
Experience engaging with, developing trusted relationships, and presenting to technical stakeholders, executive leaders and key decision makers.
Strong familiarity with common Information Security and data protection frameworks and standards (i.e. CIS (Center for Internet Security), NIST, HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS, ISO 270001).
Minimum certifications: Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer
Bachelors degree in computer science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Desired skills:
2 years experience leading teams
Experience with Python, Java, GO, R, and Clojure
Experience with local, state, federal governments or other highly regulated environments
Desired certifications: CISSP, CISM, SC-200, CCSP, CCSK, GCSA.
