Hogan Transportation is a 100 year old full service multi faceted transportation company operating throughout North America with a tradition of unparalleled personalized service to clients utilizing first class equipment and advanced technology Job Summary The Service Manager directly supervises and coordinates the activities and responsibilities in the shop Accountable for the shop performance including but not limited to labor management service level operation expenses team management and improving customer service Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervises the work of service employees to ensure adherence to quality standards deadlines and proper proceduresPrepares and issues work schedules deadlines and duty assignments for service employeesImplements departmental policies procedures and service standards in conjunction with managementDiscusses job performance problems with employees to identify causesTrains employees in the areas of company policies and job dutiesRecruits interviews and selects employees for hireAnalyzes financial activities of the department and provides input into the budget planning and preparation processDesigns implements and evaluates staff training and development programs customer service initiatives and performance measurement criteriaApplies knowledge of DOT regulations to department operationsManages the payroll process and monitors and controls overtimeIdentifies employee training needs and sets development goals for on the job internal or external trainingMaintains a safe work environmentOther duties as requiredRequirements High school diploma or GED required3 years management experience 5 years truck maintenance experience requiredStrong organizational skills with great attention to detailExcellent customer service and phone etiquette skillsExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenProficient in Word Excel and the internet
