Lead Security Technician

Job DescriptionBCS Consultants (BCS) is a low-voltage cabling, AV and security solutions installer based in Irvine, California. BCS provides business technology integration services ranging from design-build consulting through project planning to post-installation training and support.We are looking for a self-motivated, EXPERIENCED, detail-oriented, ambitious team player to join our growing team as a Lead Security Installation Technician. This position includes lots of room for growth! Eligible candidates MUST HAVE experience installing and programming and installation burglar alarms, access control and CCTV security surveillance solutions. Professionalism with clients, taking pride in your work, and being able to troubleshoot are absolute MUSTS.This is a full-time, customer service-focused position in a very active office. Proficiency with computers, professionalism with clients and taking pride in your work are required skills.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Install, test, troubleshoot, repair and maintain all Security systems at customer sitesInstallation will include, but not limited to: Video Surveillance systems, IP and Analog cameras, wireless, Access Control panels, Intrusion Panels, magnetic locks, card readers, motion sensors, door contacts, electric door strikes, etc. On-site work will include installation and configuration of head-end computer systems, installation, termination, and calibration of field devices and sensors, and installation of communication infrastructure including conduit, enclosures and cablesPerform assigned projects within scope, in a timely manner, and on budgetPerform site surveys for clients and Sales Department for project bid opportunitiesAssist in design and configuration of server room/rack equipment environmentsClose out each project, get customer sign off and provide customers with system operation trainingExcellent attention to detail including maintaining concise daily records and following of operational standards and practicesAssume responsibility for company owned vehicles, tools, and equipmentTroubleshoot miscellaneous cabling and security system issuesInstallation of other items, such as: access points, time clocks, paging equipment, etc. Other duties as needed. What skills you need to succeed:At least 4 years of experience installing video surveillance/access control systems:Video Surveillance: Verkada, Hikvision, Axis, Tyco, ExaqcBurglar Alarms: DSC & VerkadaAccess Control: Axis, Exaqc, Hikvision, Kantech, TycoExposure to several different security platforms and technologies with the goal of creating cohesive solutions for our customersMust be able to work both independently and with a teamAbility to effectively communicate with customers, engineers, PM’s, techs- both written and verbalMUST have a working knowledge of MS Excel and WordDetail-oriented, organized and consistent workflowHave a positive attitude and superior interpersonal skills for communication with clients and teamServe as subject matter expert and mentor to assigned team of techniciansAbility to multitaskBe open to learningQualifications & Experience:Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience with cabling in the fieldMinimum of 3 years hands-on experience with leading technicians in the fieldExperienced with installing and troubleshooting: Category 5e, Category 6 & 6a, feed pair cables, fiber optic cabling, and rack equipmentAbility to troubleshoot miscellaneous cabling issues (such as faulty wiring or jacks at the station-side, patch-panel side, and demarcation locations)Clear communication skills (verbal and written)Good organizational and documentation skillsProfessional in appearance and ability to work with clients in the fieldAbility to lift 80 poundsExperience driving scissor and/or boom liftsClean driving record, valid driver’s license, and insurableGood computer skillsExperience with reading blueprints/building plansWillingness to work flexible hours occasionally to meet client deadlines (including: early mornings or late nights or overnight visits)It’s a PLUS if you have…Panduit and Corning certificationsExperience with Avigilon and HoneywellBoom and/or scissor lift certificationsCable certification experience (with tools such as Fluke)Audio visual installation experienceSecurity/Access Control installation experienceBluebeam experienceConnectwiseBenefits include:Competitive Rate based on experiencePaid holiday, vacation time, and sick daysHealth, dental, vision, life insurance401kProfessional, exciting and fun work environmentChallenging work in a team atmosphere that encourages successCompany DescriptionFun, woman-owned company.
