Job Title: Senior Associate EngineerSalary: $145,800 - $178,200 annuallySchedule: Standard business hours with occasional after-hours or emergency responseOverview:Operational Technical Services (OTS) is a leading private water and wastewater utility staffing provider, offering temporary, temp-to-hire, and permanent opportunities with great benefits. The Senior Associate Engineer plays a key role in designing and delivering infrastructure projects that support water utility operations and capital improvements. This role involves developing construction-ready designs, supporting permitting, and collaborating with teams and agencies to ensure projects are safe, cost-effective, and compliant. While not a supervisory role, it requires initiative, sound judgment, and a focus on continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:Create civil design drawings, specs, and bid documents under senior guidance.Perform site assessments, analyses, and support design decisions.Review designs for accuracy, constructability, and standards compliance.Assist with permitting and agency coordination to secure approvals.Work with teams to incorporate operational needs into design packages.Respond to RFIs and resolve field issues during construction.Help develop technical documentation and standard templates.Participate in reviews and value-engineering to optimize projects.Mentor junior staff and identify process improvements.Requirements:Knowledge of civil engineering principles for facility and site development.Familiarity with construction, permitting, and utility coordination.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam.Understanding of relevant codes (e.g., CEQA, CPUC, AWWA).Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Self-motivated with a desire to grow technically and professionally.Other Requirements:Candidates must pass a background check and drug screening.
