Job Details:Job Title: Pattern Maker/ Sample EngineerLocation: Beaverton, ORDuration: 3 MonthsType: Full-Time, ContractDescription:A global athletic brand is looking for a Pattern Maker / Sample Engineer to join the Studio team. In this role, you will be an expert in patternmaking and sewing, responsible for engineering patterns specific to designer vision, and cutting, sewing, and assembling samples at a premium level. You will participate in the apparel development process with product creation teams, troubleshoot issues, share expertise in garment construction and studio equipment, and work in a fluid, creative environment. You may also travel for fast-paced projects as needed. You will collaborate with the studio team, design, and product development partners to execute product development and fit goals.Top 5-7 Skills:Expert-level patternmaking and sewing / garment constructionCutting, sewing, and assembling premium-level samplesInterpreting design intent and offering alternative technical solutionsExperience with Optitex/Gerber, CLO/Browzwear, or CAD Pattern Design softwareAdobe Illustrator proficiencyStrong problem-solving, organization, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyRequirements for the role:5–10 years of patternmaking and/or sample sewing in the apparel industryExperience with the apparel development process from inception through production, including pattern making, grading, construction materials, costing, manufacturing, and qualityExpertise in patternmaking, sewing, and garment constructionStrong problem-solving, organization, and communication skillsExperience interpreting design intent, offering alternative solutions, and acting as a technical resourceAbility to manage multiple projectsProficiency with MS Office programsAbility to support team with SOP developmentEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Textile Science, or a related field (preferred)Additional product creation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree5–10 years of relevant patternmaking and/or sample sewing experiencePreferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):Experience using Optitex/Gerber, CLO/Browzwear, Adobe Illustrator, CAD Pattern Design softwareAbility to travel for fast-paced projects as neededMindlance is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in employment on the basis of Minority/ Gender/ Disability/ Religion/ LGBTQI/ Age/ Veterans.
