The ideal Restaurant Food Runner and Busser will be equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.The Restaurant Runner and Busser provides an excellent dining experience for our guests through proper steps of service and maintain a great work environment for our fellow hosts and vendors. The host will deliver food from kitchen to diners. This is to be done in a manner consistent with The Dollywood Company's Mission and Values.Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.Summary of Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesChecks with Manager for daily forecast training standard objectivesAscertains the daily specials from kitchen and communicates themAssists service team with bread and water service. Consistent removal of soiled dishes from tables. Reset tables to standard throughout serviceMaintains buffet cleanliness and food quality/presentation if appropriateInspects dining room for cleanliness, proper supply levels and proper staffingCleans and organizes workstationMaintains a clean and sanitary environment in compliance with all local and federal health codesPerforms service and runner duties as appropriateProvides excellent guest service at every opportunityParticipates in upsell strategies as directed by managementParticipates in daily line upsPractices service standards and current training throughout serviceAssumes duties of Supervisor in absence or as directedManagement reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any timeEducation and Experience RequiredMust be able to obtain Food handler certificationMust be at least 16 years oldBasic computer knowledge and usage preferredMust pass a pre-employment background checkKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must display and live out Lead with Love qualities strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture by being patient, kind, humble, respectful, selfless, forgiving, honest, and committedAble to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employeesMust reflect Dollywood's image by being genuinely friendly and caring and by taking pride in workMust be self-motivated and disciplinedMust be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basisMust maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged informationMust be committed to continuous improvementMust have professional appearance with good personal hygieneMust promote and support a "team" work environment by cooperating and helping co-workersMust be able to be productive in a fast-paced environmentPhysical and Cognitive RequirementsLifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. utilizing company's safety guidelines for safe liftingMobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours. Employees may also be required to travel to various areas on property which may include changes in terrain, stairs and uneven surfacesRepetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functionsEnvironmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat.
