Family Office Accountant – Single-Family Office

The pace is fast/high-energy, yet there is a casual, collegial feel to the work environment.POSITION SUMMARYThis is a newly created role for an experienced Accountant who will partner across the Finance team to support a broad range of accounting and tax functions. Core responsibilities will include preparing and posting accounting entries, monthly accounting close, and tax reporting processes. He or she will support the family office and management company accounting functions.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare analysis and account reconciliations for financial accounts across multiple legal entitiesPrepare and post journal entries as part of the day-to-day accounting operationsMaintain accuracy of the general ledger and support monthly and quarterly close processesAssist in the preparation and review of financial statements and prepare supporting documentation for internal management, tax, compliance and statutory purposesCompile and prepare PBC schedules and documentation for the external tax preparerAssist with partnership and trust accounting for family office entitiesAssist in preparing expense analysis and variance reportsAssist with various ad hoc operational and administrative tasks as requestedSupport an environment of continual process improvement, identifying areas to improve accuracy, enhance reporting, improve processes and/or gain operational efficienciesFoster positive, collaborative environment by promoting transparency and clear communicationPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONSPersonal and professional integrityIdeally at least 5 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally within a family office, private investment firm, or reputable tax/accounting organization serving UHNW clientsStrong proficiency in general ledger management, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processesExperience with Schedule K-1s and partnership allocationsExperience with partnership and trust tax accounting is a plusExperience working with multiple legal entities and complex ownership structuresAbility to work independently and prioritize multiple workstreamsAttention to detail and organizational skillsTeam oriented with high confidence, but low ego- “No job too small attitude”Ability to exercise the highest level of discretion in handling sensitive informationStrong computer skills including high proficiency in Microsoft OfficeKnowledge in QuickBooks and/or Microsoft Dynamics a plusEDUCATIONBachelor’s of Business Administration required (Accounting major preferred)COMPENSATIONCompetitive base salary and annual performance-based bonusBenefits include health, dental and vision insurance401(k) planRELOCATIONWe will support relocation and open to applications outside of Austin.
