This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in food presentation, flavor, and consistency while following established menus and food safety standards.The Dietary Cook prepares and serves meals according to a four-week cycle menu, ensures proper food handling and sanitation practices, and may supervise dietary aides as needed. This position reports directly to the Food Service Supervisor.Coordinate daily food preparation and meal serviceDetermine appropriate amounts and types of food and supplies neededMonitor and record food temperatures (hot and cold) prior to meal servicePrepare meals according to menus and dietary guidelinesClean and sanitize equipment and work areas after food preparationSupervise dietary staff in the absence of the Food Service SupervisorEnsure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all mealsSet priorities and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environmentStable hours and consistent schedulingSupportive leadership and team environmentOpportunity to showcase creativity and culinary talentMeaningful work serving residents in a long-term care setting
