Senior Software Engineer

What is the position?We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong focus on AI to build and integrate intelligent features into a production SaaS platform. This contract role is highly hands-on, centered on turning AI concepts into scalable, real-world product capabilities that enhance automation and user experience.What are the responsibilities?As a Senior Software Engineer , you will:Develop and deploy AI-driven features such as intelligent automation, recommendations, and copilotsEmbed LLMs and machine learning capabilities into existing systems and workflowsAssess and implement AI tools, APIs, and frameworks suitable for production environmentsPartner with product teams to convert business needs into practical AI solutionsBuild and support backend services that enable scalable AI functionalityMonitor and improve system performance, reliability, and efficiency of AI componentsContribute to system architecture decisions, especially around AI integrationCollaborate with engineering teams to introduce AI without compromising system stabilityWhat are the requirements?5+ years of experience in software engineering within SaaS or cloud-based systemsStrong backend development skills (experience with Ruby and/or Golang preferred)Proven experience integrating APIs and working with distributed architecturesHands-on experience implementing AI/ML solutions in real applicationsSolid understanding of system design, data flow, and performance tuningExperience with relational databases (e.g., SQL-based systems)Familiarity with microservices, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practicesExperience deploying applications in cloud environments (Azure or similar)Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teamsStrong communication skills, including explaining technical AI concepts to non-technical audiencesYou would be really happy here if:You thrive under pressure and can stay focused to deliver high-quality results efficientlyYou enjoy tackling complex challenges and finding effective, well-reasoned solutionsJoCo is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
