Surveyor

Summary: Perform various construction surveying related task utilizing Trimble GPS, survey, and CAD software in order to produce clear, complete, and concise results in a timely manner.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Train, educate and assist field personnel in the use and operation of Machine Control GPS equipmentSite localization and set-up, pre-surveys, production surveys and as-builts as necessaryVerify Machine Control calibrations, maintain and troubleshoot GPS problems when necessaryPerform site staking/layout and grade checking as necessaryProduce quantity reports for project managers and superintendentsPractice good recordkeeping skills for survey logs and recordsRequirements: Strong mathematical skills.Excellent Communication skills both oral and written when working alongside all levels of management, co-workers, vendors and clientsExperience with Trimble data collection software & surveying equipmentProficient with MS office softwareExperience with drafting software (AutoCAD, Carlson) preferredAbility to read, analyze and interpret civil plans and specificationsMust be a motivated self-starter, team player with the desire to learn and advanceMust be able to work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking and standing on uneven terrain and variable weather conditionsMust be willing to travel. Moderate to extensive overnight travelMust possess clean driving record to drive company vehicleEducation and Experience: AAS/Technical Certificate in Geodetic/Surveying or 1-3 years related field experienceCandidates that accept an offer of employment are required to undergo and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination.
