System Engineer

Systems Engineer - Physical Security(Relocation Assistance Provided)Location: San Jose, CASalary: $120,000 - $170,000 (based on experience and education)Insight Global is seeking a Systems Engineer to support a large commercial client in San Jose, CA. This position will focus on the evaluation, testing, integration, and deployment of enterprise physical security technologies supporting data centers and large commercial facilities.We are looking for an engineer with a strong background in physical security systems, particularly enterprise access control platforms such as Software House C•CURE 9000 and Genetec Security Center. This individual will help drive proof-of-concepts, system testing, engineering documentation, and technology evaluations while working closely with stakeholders to support security initiatives at scale.ResponsibilitiesConduct market surveys, proof-of-concepts, pilot programs, and lab evaluations of physical security technologies.Build and maintain test environments to validate hardware and software solutions.Develop test plans, technical documentation, and engineering recommendations.Analyze and define system and functional requirements for physical security solutions.Design and support system architectures that meet operational and security objectives.Participate in system integration, interface design, configuration management, and testing throughout the project lifecycle.Perform technical assessments, requirements reviews, and end-to-end operational flow analysis.Develop operational concepts and deployment strategies that support implementation, maintenance, and long-term system performance.Review and approve engineering documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with requirements.Create timeline and workflow analyses to support project execution and system implementation.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience supporting physical security systems.Strong hands-on experience with Software House C•CURE 9000 and/or Genetec Security Center.Experience supporting large commercial, critical infrastructure, data center, or federal security environments.Experience testing, programming, configuring, and integrating access control and other physical security technologies.Ability to develop proof-of-concepts, testing strategies, engineering documentation, and technical evaluations.Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and physical security system architecture.Preferred QualificationsIndustry certifications related to physical security, security systems, networking, or systems engineering.Experience with AI, analytics, or automation technologies within physical security environments.Experience working with integrated security ecosystems, including video surveillance and intrusion detection systems.
