Broadcast Engineer / AV Systems EngineerJob Type: Full-Time | Location: On-site (Stamford, CT)This position is comfortable with relocation candidatesOptomi, in partnership with a leading sports production organization, is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to support critical broadcast and production environments. This role will focus on maintaining broadcast systems, troubleshooting production hardware and software issues, supporting video delivery operations, and ensuring high availability across production environments.What the Right Candidate will Enjoy:Working hands-on with modern broadcast and production technologies!Supporting live sports production and media delivery environments!Collaborating within a highly technical and fast-paced operations team!Opportunities for technical growth and skill development!Exposure to streaming, networking, and broadcast distribution technologies!Experience of the Right Candidate:Experience working in broadcast, AV, or media production environments.Understanding of routing, signal flow, and audio/video formats.Knowledge of networking fundamentals including IPv4 and closed network environments.Familiarity with multicast, unicast, RTP, UDP, and SRT protocols.Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and production systems.Basic Windows and Linux system administration experience.Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.2+ years supporting AV or broadcast environments.Exposure to cloud or streaming technologies.Knowledge of video encoding and distribution workflows.Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:Support and maintain broadcast systems, workstations, and production hardware.Troubleshoot hardware, software, and physical workstation issues in live production environments.Maintain and update operating systems, applications, and production devices including Apple TVs, Rokus, tablets, and mobile devices.Monitor video delivery systems, KPI dashboards, CDN performance, and distribution health.Support networking and signal flow troubleshooting within broadcast environments.Assist with system configuration, deployment, and operational support across production teams.Troubleshoot streaming and transport protocols including multicast, unicast, RTP, UDP, and SRT.Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to maintain uptime and production readiness.Provide ad hoc technical support for production and distribution initiatives.
