The ideal candidate will create a structured and engaging classroom environment where scholars explore music through performance, theory, and collaboration.AMS teachers are collaborative professionals who believe that all scholars can achieve at high levels through strong instructional practices, structured classroom environments, and data-informed teaching.Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Student AchievementDeliver engaging, standards-aligned music instruction aligned with AMS curriculum and Nevada Academic Content Standards.Teach foundational concepts in music theory, rhythm, vocal and/or instrumental performance, and music appreciation.Differentiate instruction to support students performing above and below grade level.Incorporate performance-based learning opportunities such as concerts, showcases, and classroom performances.Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructional planning. Classroom Culture & Student DevelopmentEstablish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment.Implement PBIS and proactive classroom management strategies.Foster student confidence, creativity, and collaboration through music.Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development. Collaboration & Professional GrowthParticipate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities (PLCs).Collaborate with teachers and school leadership to support school-wide initiatives and events.Contribute to school culture through music programs, performances, and community events.Engage in ongoing professional learning to strengthen instructional practices. Family EngagementCommunicate regularly with families regarding student progress and performance opportunities.Lead parent-teacher conferences and support family engagement through performances and events.Encourage family participation in student showcases and music programs.
