School Counselor

Ouachita Parish School Board has a standing application process that allows individuals to apply for positions, whether there is a vacancy or not. This allows for a pool of applicants should a position become vacant. This application is not posted for a specific location at this time.QUALIFICATIONS:Valid Lousiana Teaching CertificateLousiana Certification as a Guidance CounselorJOB GOAL:To plan and implement a program which creates an enviroment wherestudents can learn and develop optimally. To administer test, interpretscores, and maintain other records pertinent to better understandingof student acheivement and potential. To assist individual studentsthrough the couseling relationship to utilize their own resources andenvironment opportunities in the process of self-understanding,planning, decision making, and coping with problems relative tostudent developmental needs and educational decisions.
