Home Health Aide
Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in their homes, assisting them with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care, particularly with seniors and individuals with disabilities, and possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and documentation practices. You will be working with the medicaid waiver program of the company. We work with low income families to help provide them with the care that typically is very expensive, to allow them to be home with their families. We are aiming to make a difference in our community in attempting to keep loved ones out of facilities and in familiar surroundings with family to help them continue to thrive.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client condition
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans
Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including laundry and light housekeeping duties
Support clients with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and memory care as needed
Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems for documentation of patient care activities
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care
Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in home health or caregiving roles, particularly in assisted living or nursing home settings
Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices
CPR certification and knowledge of basic first aid procedures
Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or require hospice care
Strong observational skills to monitor patient conditions effectively
A caring attitude towards seniors and individuals needing assistance
