Courses with low enrollment (less than 12 students) may be canceled. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.Work Location: Determined by course modality. Generally on campus, in person. Remote teaching opportunities may be available under certain conditions.* This position is open only to Colorado state residents or those that intend to reside in the state of Colorado while employed by UCCS.SummaryThe College of Education at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers in the P-12 Educational Leadership program from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions will be made. Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time) and will be made semester-by-semester.Lecturers will teach P-12 Educational Leadership classes. For example, American Foundations of Education; Leading Teams and Organizations; Research and Statistics; Vision, Ethics, and Politics for School Leaders; Legal and Financial Aspects of School Administration; Data Driven Program Evaluation and Curriculum Assessment; Collaborative Leadership for Equity and Community Outreach; Human Resources Management and Staff Development; Instructional Leadership; Supervision and Evaluation of Instruction; Social Foundations of Educational Trends; Master's Research Lab; Transformational Leadership in Central Office Administration; Quality Systems Management in Central Office Administration; Special Education Leadership; and Practicum in School Leadership. Classes are offered online, in-person, and through hybrid means.Essential FunctionsTeach assigned course in assigned course modalityDevelop syllabus for course using College of Education accessible course templateComplete necessary trainings as determined by Department, College, and/or UniversityDevelop, maintain, and utilize Canvas shell for duration of the courseEnsure Canvas shell meets accessibility standardsAssess student assignments and submit final grades by deadline in Canvas and CU-SISInform program faculty director and/or department chair of student issues and concerns in a timely mannerTentative Search TimelineThis is an evergreen Lecturer Pool for the Department of Leadership, Research, and Foundations at UCCS for Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027. Applications will be reviewed on a semester-by-semester basis as teaching needs arise, therefore, you will only be contacted if you meet the minimum qualifications and are selected to teach a course.Because this appointment is temporary in nature, you will not be eligible to receive all of the benefits normally provided to faculty under the standard University of Colorado benefits programs. You are not eligible to receive paid vacation leave, medical, or retirement benefits.
