Dance Coach for The KRUNK Movement

Position Title: The KRUNK Movement Dance CoachImmediate Supervisor: KRUNK Program CoordinatorClassification:School Year Part-time (25 hours), hourlySummer Seasonal Full-time, hourlyThe KRUNK Movement Dance Coach is a highly motivated and experienced individual that will work closely with The KRUNK Movement program (ages 14-18) for the school and summer seasons. The KRUNK Movement dancers are a part of a larger group of students who focus on the different elements of hip-hop.This individual will help program participants develop their technical skills in mainly hip-hop dance, choreography, musicality, rehearsal, and performance. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students achieve their goals and will have a proven track record of their success in dance education. This is an hourly position starting at $20/hour.Key Responsibilities:Work with enrolled KRUNK students to develop their skills in dance technique, styles, and choreography.Guide students on how to engage with an audience, use their movement effectively, and story-tell through performanceProvide appropriate feedback to help students improve their performance skills.Lead creative and engaging lessonsCollaborate with Center of Life staff members to create a positive and supportive learning environmentAssist in planning and executing projects, events, and performancesMonitor student progress and adjust coaching techniques as neededCommit to Center of Life's Summer Programming Hours (with preliminary staff orientations): Monday - Wednesday 9 AM - 5 PM, Thursdays 11 PM - 8 PM, Friday 8 AM - 4 PMCommit to Center of Life's After-School Programming Hours: Monday - Friday 3 PM - 7 PMGeneral Expectations:Participate as an active member at Center of LifeAdhere to all Center of Life Policies and ProceduresAttend Center of Life staff meetings, retreats, and mandatory eventsMeet bi-weekly 1:1 with immediate supervisorAdhere to the security, accuracy, operability of the daily communication and program reporting needs of Center of LifeContribute to the development and sustainability of a collaborative and supportive work environmentEducation and Qualifications:Professional dance experience and/or education of 3 years minimumExperience working in an educational setting or working directly with children aged K - 12Excellent judgement and creative problem-solving skills including conflict resolution skillsAbility to communicate in a professional and timely mannerHigh energy, flexibility, willingness to collaborate, and proactively engage with children to build positive intergenerational relationshipsPennsylvania Criminal and Child Abuse clearances, FBI Criminal Background, PA Mandated Reporter Certificate, and National Sex Offender Registry ClearanceCommitment to the Center of Life missionClassification: non-exemptMust have a valid driver's licenseCenter of Life is an equal opportunity employer and an at-will employer.
